I needed my drone in exactly the right position to capture it all: the glow of dawn, the street's golden trail, and the skyline's iconic silhouettes. But time was slipping away; sunrise was moments from breaking. The wind picked up, buffeting the drone, testing my control and patience. My fingers gripped the controller, adjusting and readjusting to keep my vision framed just right. In my mind's eye, I already saw the image - the city awakening under a deep blue sky, streetlights fading, the Transamerica Pyramid standing proud. I was determined to make that vision real. Below, the Coppola Building, with its copper-green façade and historic charm, quietly watched over North Beach. Once home to film director Francis Ford Coppola's American Zoetrope, it's a reminder of San Francisco's creative soul. And the Transamerica Pyramid - love it or hate it - has defined the skyline since 1972, a modernist spike pointing toward the heavens. The seconds felt like hours as I fought the wind and the rising light. Then, in one perfect moment, the frame aligned. The colors, the lights, the streets - exactly as I had imagined. I pressed the shutter, and just like that, the city's beauty was preserved from a perspective few ever get to witness. Thrilled, I brought the drone back, knowing I had captured San Francisco the way I dreamed it.
