For use in a finished structure (old work) ½” thru 5/8” thick.Installation instructions for STR ceiling fixture support:1. Make a small hole in the sheet rock at desired light fixture location by using a Philip’s head screw driver. 2. Place the pilot locator bit (located on the back side of the box) into that hole. 3. Use your hand to apply pressure onto the face of the box while rotating it 360 degrees in either direction. There are 3 burrs on the backside of the box that will scribe a line onto the painted sheet rock. 4. Once a clear line is visible, cut away the line with a jab saw to make the perfect size hole every time. 5. Once a hole is cut, pull your romex thru that hole and insert it into one of the (built-in) wire inlets or one of the 2 KO’s designed to accept ½” romex connectors. 6. IMPORTANT Place the box into the hole. Then engage the single screw fastener into a ceiling rafter along with at least 2 toggles for light fixture support of no greater than 50lbs. Note this product is not rated for paddle fan support.
